In the first month of its incorporation, Thinkpulse asked Dictis to develop the company's activities in Europe (world's first smart card market). Within 5 months, Dictis succeeded in negotiating and achieving the first Thinkpulse partnerships with key players in the smart card industry.

Incorporated in April 2000, Thinkpulse, a Gemplus spin-off, develops and distributes smartX, a new smart card-based technology. smartX was introduced by Gemplus in October 1999 and received several technology industry awards. smartX enables a global interoperability between smart cards and readers. The technology relies on web-based software and application services dedicated to the development, deployment and maintenance of cross-platform smart card systems. smartX focuses on three key targets:
- Smart card terminal manufacturers (POS, set-top box, mobile phone, etc.),
- Card issuers and application developers,
- Smart card manufacturers.
The business model relies on software sales, OEM royalties and ASP revenues.

Dictis' assignment
Dictis has been mandated to help create and develop Thinkpulse's European activities in its early stages. This mission is strategic for Thinkpulse for several reasons:
- Europe is the largest smart card market. Major key players are European firms
- First partnerships and commercial agreements are key
- Additional funding was linked to mission achievements

Dictis is the only business development partner of Thinkpulse in Europe.

Milestones and achievements:

• Within 5 months, Dictis finalized partnerships with key industry players in Europe. These European partnerships are Thinkpulse's first agreements worldwide.
• Dictis consultants are currently involved in on-going negotiations with other smart card terminal manufacturers (mobile phone, web phone, POS, etc.), card issuers, smart card manufacturers and application developers.
