A Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) is a mobile telecommunications operator who provides wireless services under its own brand, without owning any radio license or infrastructure. An MVNO relies on regular mobile operators for radio resources and possibly other network subsystems.

Dictis worked on the retailer's possible Mobile Virtual Network Operator positioning. By becoming a MVNO, the retailer can fully service his customers and gets more flexibility and freedom in his strategic choices.

We described the benefits and downfalls of the MVNO, explained the various MVNO approaches with their pros and cons, studied existing MVNO cases and analyzed solutions proposed equipment vendors.

We highlighted the strategic MVNO issues, analyzed the global mobile telecommunication environment (2G and 3G) and approached mobile telecommunication operators and regulation authorities of various European countries.

Our recommendations empowered our client to go through the appropriate analysis process and enabled the organization to make the right choices.
